  1. TIME: 17JUL2021, 0900

    WEATHER: Clear

    TERRAIN: Farm fields, hills.

SITUATION: Avenger Company arriving in Sangin.

    -Friendly Forces:
72nd Airborne, ACE, and ODA.  ANA Commandos.

    Higher Command’s Mission:

Avenger company is conducting patrols and route clearance, getting an idea of the situation on the ground and gathering intel.  The squads are going out to independent objectives all over the map and will likely not be able to assist each other without air transport.  All zones of the map have high levels of hostility and the likelihood of sporadic attacks and IEDs is very high.

    Execution:

1-1 is going out on an independent patrol route and we will not have the other squads around to assist.  We have two primary objectives in addition to a secondary objective to be completed in between.

Objective 1:  According to intel #9, insurgents have been spotted planting IEDs on the route south of the ANA training center.  1-1 will be scouting this route and removing any IEDs spotted.  Large portions of the route immediately south of the training center are in an open valley with zero cover.  1-1 will be scouting the road from the ridgeline to the immediate west rather than walking it directly in this zone.  If any IEDs are spotted, Bravo will move down with EOD and take care of it while Alpha maintains overwatch from the ridgeline.

    spacer.png

Secondary objective: As the whole length of the road is one of the marked primary routes for the platoon the focus on, 1-1 will walk it after it leaves the valley until we hit CP Bath Salts.  At this point, we will evaluate the time remaining in the mission.  If there's a lot of time remaining, we will continue to walk the road to the south until we hit CP Molly, then cross the river to the west and make our way to Objective 2.  If not, we will cross the river at CP Bath Salts and go directly to Objective 2 from there.

    spacer.png

Objective 2:  According to Intel #4, a local farmer spotted unfamiliar men digging something in his field at night.  Suspecting it to be an IED cache, he has contacted the US forces and asked us to come take a look.  After we cross the river, Alpha will hold at one of the hills overlooking the objective area and maintain overwatch while Bravo goes and talks to the farmer.  Depending on what he says, we will either do a scan of the fields to see if we can spot anything suspicious, or carry out any reasonable requests he might have.  After this is complete, 1-1 will move to the forested hills to the southwest and set up a patrol base for mission end.  Because we will be ending the mission out in the field, it is recommended that 1-1 members carry anything they would need to conduct a night mission, as we do not know what time of day mission #2 will be.

  3. TIME: 5JUNE2021, Day

    WEATHER: Clear

    TERRAIN: Urban, Open

SITUATION: TNA forces routed, Avenger company is to clear the roadways.

    -Friendly Forces:
    US Forces, 72nd ODA

    Higher Command’s Mission:

The 72nd Airborne is to conduct a combat patrol of all major roadways in and around the city of Fallujah.  There will be significant numbers of IEDs spread around the roadways, and insurgent gathering points and ambushes are expected as well.  The TNA forces are in full retreat and minimal TNA contact is expected.  The squads will split up and patrol their assigned roadways.  The insurgents have been reported to be highly creative at disguising their IEDs, and it is recommended that all EOD personnel and all NCOs review this writeup by SPC Z. Adams on the kinds of IEDs that have been sighted lately:

Execution: This mission will be carried out in 2 phases.

Phase 1: Each squad will move out to their assigned patrol routes from the airbase.  Each squad is free to decide how they will get to their route and in what way they will patrol it, so long as the entire length is covered.  For this mission, each squad will bring 1x M1232 MRAP, and 1x M1025A2 (M2) Humvee.  Insurgent ambushes are expected, squads are to engage and eliminate all insurgents spotted.  1-1 will be patrolling the Green zone, 1-2 the Blue zone, and 1-3 the Red zone.

    spacer.png

Phase 2:  After each squad has completed their assigned patrol route, they are to cycle areas and do a second pass over an area that was initially assigned to another squad.  In this phase, 1-1 will patrol the Blue zone, 1-2 the Red zone, and 1-3 the Green zone.  It is highly likely that insurgent forces may wait to set up some ambushes or IEDs after the initial patrol has already gone over a spot, so the second patrol's purpose is to catch any of these additional ambushes or IEDs that may pop up.  Once these second patrols are completed, squads are to return and ENDEX at base.

  4. Phase 1:  Avenger platoon will defend the building where last week's mission ended.  The building has been built up with defenses facing primarily North and East, enemy attacks are expected to mostly come from this direction.  1-1 will take the first and second floor, 1-2 the third and fourth floor, and 1-3 will take the roof, with the CCP being on the third floor hallway just outside the stairwell.  Enemy attacks are expected to begin within one minute of mission start, so elements will need to move to their defense positions as soon as they load in.  There are enemy snipers in highrise apartment buildings to the northeast, SDMs should be assigned to counter them.

Platoon will be receiving resupply via ACE shortly after mission start.  Several resupply runs are expected, via blackhawks landing on the roof of the building.

In the event that the platoon is forced to abandon the building due to heavy attack, they will retreat back to the bridge to the south where allied forces are maintaining a strong point.

    spacer.pngspacer.png

Phase 2:  After the attack from phase 1 has been repelled, the platoon will move along the marked assault route to an enemy FOB on the north edge of the city.  The objective is to assault and clear this FOB.  EOD will blast holes along the wall in order to make entry points into the FOB (reference EP1 and EP2), as climbing the wall or circling around to the entrance is much more risky.  We may only use one entry point, depending on conditions inside and outside of those points.  Once inside, the squads will flow roughly along the marked routes to clear the FOB.  Some residual enemy armor is expected within, as are AA defenses that may pose a threat to infantry.

    Notes:

    • Far to the northwest along the MSR, there is a suspected insurgent gathering point and past that, a known enemy garrison.  Reinforcements may come from either of these points along the MSR.
    • Hitman team is starting at the same location as the platoon, and their primary objective is in close proximity to the enemy FOB.  They may end up assisting the platoon with phase 1 or phase 2, depending on circumstances.
    • The majority of enemy armored forces in the immediate area were destroyed in the last mission, but there may be some stragglers left over.
    • All enemy and friendly markers are approximations, not exact locations (except for the sniper mark).

  5. Phase 1: 1-1 is to assault the enemy held town of Gabu, where Hannah Williams, a high level PMC officer, is known to have her base of operations.  1-1's objective is to clear the upper half of the town and capture her.  She is suspected to be in the compound next to the hospital, marked objective Subaru.  There is known to be a cave in the area and it is highly likely that there is an entrance to a tunnel to the cave inside the town.   1-1 will most likely need to enter and clear the cave, as the HVT is expected to retreat inside.  1-2 will be assaulting the town alongside 1-1, clearing the southern half and providing security while 1-1 is in the cave in the likely circumstance that there's a QRF.

1-1 will insert via LZ Toyota (140-270), move east, and attack the town from the north/northwest.  Once the town is clear and 1-2 are ready to take up defensive positions, 1-1 will enter the cave and search for the HVT.  Enemy presence is suspected to be primarily PMC, but NDF forces are possible, especially as QRF.

    spacer.png

Phase 2:  1-2 is assaulting an enemy held ship, the MV Amastra (146-153) with 1-1 supporting. 1-1's role will most likely be to assist 1-2 with clearing the lower decks of the ship.  Pending 1-3's other objective, they might also show up to assist.  Enemy presence is suspected to be mixed PMC and NDF.  Given the PMC's heavy involvement with human trafficking, civilian captives may be aboard.

  6. 1-1 and 1-3 are moving to objective Baywatch (182-241), a village on the coast where an arms drop off between Red Star and the local Guerilla forces is taking place at 0045 local time.  Recovered intel has indicated that the enemy are aware of the planned drop off and are planning to disrupt it.  1-1 and 1-3's objective is to protect the location and ensure the drop off proceeds as planned.

In addition to the village on the coast, there are two other nearby villages where the Guerilla forces have weapons and/or supply caches (185-132), (193-136).  In order to prevent these caches from being captured by the enemy, 1-1 will retrieve them using vehicles on site and place them in the village where the drop off is taking place.  While 1-1 is doing this, 1-3 will dig fortifications around the village in preparation for the enemy attack.  In addition to our usual weapons, 4 mounted M2s will be dropped off on site to help with the defense.

Notes:  This operation will be occurring at night, be sure to bring NVGs.  Guerilla forces are friendly to us and are not to be fired upon.  Red Star forces are considered neutral and ROE is return fire only.  A Red Star submarine is expected to be surfacing at the location of the drop off.  1-1 and/or 1-3 may be asked to assist 1-2 in their objective if ours is completed first or if 1-2's is going badly.

  7. 1-1 will attack an NDF FOB in search of Najjah, an intelligence asset for the revolutionaries who has been imprisoned and interrogated by the NDF.  1-1 will land at LZ Mayo (163-241) and proceed west on foot towards the FOB.  1-2 has an identical objective elsewhere on the map, as we're not entirely certain which FOB Najjah is at, and both squads will hold for the other to be ready before we attack our objectives, so that the NDF won't have an opportunity to move Najjah from whichever location he is at.

    spacer.pngspacer.png

Once the attack starts, Red and Blue team will clear out two bunkers on the West side of the FOB before the squad moves in.  The compound we're attacking first is labeled OBJ Alamo, and it contains several buildings which we think are most likely to contain Najjah.  Red team will blow a wall on the West side of the compound, and the squad will move in from there.  Red team will clear the larger building in the compound and Blue team the smaller one.  Thereafter, Red team will use the second floor of their building as a firing position from which they can see most of the rest of the FOB.  Meanwhile, Blue team will clear the other compounds in a clockwise fashion around the FOB.  There is a possibility that we may find a cave entrance within the FOB.  If this occurs, we will clear the entire FOB before entering the cave.

    spacer.png

1-1 has no other assigned objectives after the FOB, so with the remaining time after the FOB is cleared, 1-1 will likely be assigned to assist another squad with their objective.

  8. Intro: 1-1 and 1-2 are going to the town of Madimba, where intel reports that a PMC human trafficking convoy will be stopped.  The PMCs are kidnapping civilians and putting them into trucks, protected by armored vehicles.  The objective is to destroy the armored vehicles and free the civilians in the convoy.  Once the town is cleared of enemies, the kidnapped civilians will be recovered and extracted by ACE.  ACE is sending PJs along to assist with this objective.  The second objective is to clear out PMC forces that are gathering around the city of Bakaho for an attack on nearby FOB Creedence.

Phase 1: 1-1 and 1-2 will be picked up from their respective FOBs and flown to their LZs (1-1: 178-306) (1-2: 168:289).  From these points, they will move directly towards the town.  1-1 is clearing the buildings on the northeast side of the road, starting from the north end.  1-2 is clearing the buildings on the southwest side of the road, starting from the south end.  1-1's first goal is to capture a courtyard surrounded by several buildings which will be used as a CCP as well as a holding point for the kidnapped civilians, after which they will clear the rest of the buildings on their side.  1-2's first goal is to destroy the vehicles at the head of the convoy to prevent the rest from escaping in the middle of the assault, after which they will clear their assigned buildings.  Destroying the lead vehicles is the top priority, therefore (assuming the squads are not detected beforehand) 1-2 will attack first and 1-1 will begin their assault shortly thereafter.  We are anticipating that the village will be full of civilian residents, and it should be noted that we are not extracting any random civilians that happen to be running around.  We are only extracting civilians that are in the trucks or otherwise imprisoned.

    spacer.pngspacer.png

Phase 2: ISR will be deployed to scan the city of Bakaho and look for concentrations of PMC forces, as we are not yet aware of their exact location.  Therefore a more precise plan will be developed once 1-1 and 1-2 have been flown to FOB Creedence.  On the off chance that ISR does not find anything noteworthy, the two squads will patrol through the city in search of PMC hotspots, as noted in the picture below.  Once the PMC forces are dealt with, the squads will return to FOB Creedence, and 1-1 may or may not be flown back to their own FOB, depending on time remaining.

It should be noted, NDF (government) forces are likely to be in the city.  ROE on them is return fire only, as they are not officially hostile to us.

    spacer.png

  9. Phase 1: 1-1 will be transported via helicopter from FOB Sum Ting Wong (181-203) to the vicinity of the boat drop off point (143-174), where 1-1 will pick up a MK 5 socom boat primarily for use with the second objective.  Once 1-1 has the boat, they will move to objective Malaria (139-175) where they will conduct a drop off of medicines to a village and talk to the village elder.  After that objective and any follow on objectives are complete, 1-1 will move to their second objective.

    spacer.png

Phase 2: 1-1 will move via boat to Objective Boat Assholes, Mikindani Bay, where PMCs in rubber dinghy's have been reported moving around.  1-1 will visit several villages on the shore and see if the locals have any intel, as well as checking the entirety of the bay via boat for enemy forces and assets.  As the bay becomes rather narrow further up, there's not enough space for the MK 5 boat to turn around, so past the point of no return line, 1-1 will make use of rubber dinghy's carried on the MK 5 to visit the villages further up.  Once this objective and any follow-ons are complete, 1-1 will take the boat down to the airbase and (if there's time) take a helicopter back to FOB Sum Ting Wong to endex.

    Village 1 (122-187) Village 2 (130-208) Village 3 (138-216) Village 4 (134-228).

Ferrari Asshole guy wanted us to compensate him 625,000 for a wrecked car beside him (obviously not a ferrari).  I left a banana on the hood for compensation.  He was shot by a PMC, medevaced to the airbase.

  11. Phase 1: 1-1 will move via vehicle from FOB Sum Ting Wong (182-203) to Objective 1, the town of Talangai, where intel suggests that there is a safehouse nearby the village well (which happens to look like a fountain, not a well).  Once at the dismount point, 1-1 will move on foot into town and proceed to search the area near the well for anything out of place.  Any buildings that look suspicious will be searched, and any weapon caches, intel, or PMC presence will be reported.  Once done with the village and any potential follow-on objectives, 1-1 will move via vehicle back up to the FOB and resupply for the next objective.

    spacer.png

Phase 2: 1-1 will move via helicopter to LZ Ferrari Asshole (188-160), where 1-1 will fast rope on the ground from there.  Once there, 1-1 will move on foot to the nearby village where intel is reporting that a local is demanding compensation for a damaged Ferrari (in a thatch hut village, with no roads).  Once 1-1 has determined what flavor of bullshit the local is trying to sell us (and completed any follow on objectives), 1-1 will move back to FOB Sum Ting Wong for resupply.

    spacer.png

Phase 3:  Time permitting, 1-1 will move via helicopter to LZ Malaria (139-177), where a village elder is requesting medical supplies (10x antibiotics, 10x antimalaria drugs).  Once the medical supplies are dropped off and we've listened to what the elder has to say and completed any follow on objectives, 1-1 will move back to FOB Sum Ting Wong via helicopter and prepare for endex.

    spacer.png

Notes: we are not allowed to search buildings unless we notice something suspicious (weapons, ammo, stacks of cash, PMCs).  We should avoid making LZs near villages unless we've already been in contact with enemies at that location.  The locals do not appreciate spooked goats.
